Biography

Davor Bestvina, also known by the nickname Davke, is a Croatian guitarist best known as a founding member of the Osijek punk rock band Debeli Precjednik (internationally known as Fat Prezident). Formed in 1993 in Osijek during the early years of the Croatian punk revival, the band became one of the most influential melodic hardcore and punk acts in the region.
Davke plays guitar and contributes backing vocals in the band, alongside vocalist Tin Kovačić, guitarist Ivan Budaić, bassist Igor Kovačević, and drummer Siniša Rajković. His energetic rhythm guitar style helps shape the band’s fast, melodic sound, influenced by classic punk and melodic hardcore bands.
Active with the group since its formation, Bestvina has performed on numerous releases and toured extensively across Europe, contributing to the band’s reputation for high-energy live shows and socially aware lyrics. Over decades of activity, Debeli Precjednik have released several albums and EPs and played hundreds of shows, becoming a key part of the Croatian and regional punk scene.
Within the band and the wider underground community, Davke is recognized for his long-standing dedication to punk music and for helping keep the Osijek punk scene active since the 1990s.
He went through a lot of other brands of guitars in the last more than 30 years but settled on his FGN Neo Classic NCLC-20E Black in 2011 and never looked back.
